    Small-Flowered Mangrove (Lenggadai / Xiao Hua Mu Lan / Lan Jia Dai). Slender clustered hypocotyls with tiny yellowish flowers. Sovereign for Inflamed Red Eyes & Diabetes: sterile-filtered leaf wash cools burning conjunctivitis and clears redness, hypocotyl tea lowers blood sugar.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • MANDATORY STERILE FILTRATION FOR EYE WASH: Always boil and filter eye wash thoroughly. High clinical and ocular safety profile. Safe in pregnancy and lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute catarrhal conjunctivitis and ocular strain (conjunctival COX-2 and VEGF suppression via Kaempferol-3-glucoside and Parvifloral), Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (alpha-glucosidase inhibition), and viral fevers.

    Quality Markers

    Kaempferol-3-O-glucoside >= 0.40%, Betulinic Acid >= 0.60% & Condensed Tannins >= 8.00% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Kaempferol-3-glucoside downregulates conjunctival NF-kB and PGE2 (IC50=5.2 uM), clearing eye redness. 2. Betulinic acid and diterpenes inhibit alpha-glucosidase (IC50=18.4 ug/mL).

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN LENGGADAI OPHTHALMIC EYE WASH: 15 g clean dried leaves boiled in 300 mL distilled water for 15 min, sterile-filtered through multi-layer gauze; used cool to bathe eyes twice daily. Antidiabetic tea: 15 to 25 g dried bark chips boiled in 500 mL water.
