    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Astringent bitter taste. High dermatological and clinical safety profile. Safe during lactation; moderate internal doses during active pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Refractory atopic eczema and allergic contact dermatitis (histamine H1 receptor blockade and mast-cell stabilization via Ursolic acid and Borreverine), superficial traumatic bleeding, and hemorrhoids.

    Quality Markers

    Ursolic Acid >= 0.80%, Borreverine, Asperuloside & Total Triterpenes >= 2.20% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Ursolic acid and iridoids inhibit 5-lipoxygenase and mast-cell histamine degranulation, terminating pruritus. 2. Condensed tannins cross-link wound proteins to halt capillary bleeding.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN RUMPUT SETAWAR ANTI-ITCH POULTICE: 30 to 50 g fresh winged stems and leaves pounded with 1 tbsp coconut oil into a moist pulp; plastered over weeping eczema or bleeding cuts (stops itching in 15 min). Dysentery tea: 15 to 25 g dried herb boiled in 500 mL water.
