    Creeping False Pimpernel / Menses-Stabilizing Herb (Kerak Nasi / Ding Jing Cao / Ni Hua Cao). Creeping marsh herb with violet-blue 2-lipped flowers. Dual Sovereign for Menstrual Harmony & Snakebite: boiled herb tea regulates erratic menses and stops cramps, fresh poultice neutralizes viper stings.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Potent blood-activating and menses-regulating properties; AVOID HIGH INTERNAL DOSES DURING ACTIVE PREGNANCY. Safe during lactation; completely safe topically.

    Clinical Applications

    • Primary and secondary dysmenorrhea and irregular menses (myometrial smooth muscle modulation and COX-2 suppression via Luteolin-7-glucoside), dysfunctional uterine bleeding (Beng Lou), and venomous snakebite first aid.

    Quality Markers

    Luteolin-7-O-glucoside (木犀草苷) >= 0.60%, Bonnayasides A & B & Rosmarinic Acid >= 0.40% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Luteolin-7-glucoside suppresses PGF2a-induced myometrial contractions, easing dysmenorrhea. 2. Rosmarinic acid inhibits snake venom hyaluronidase, reducing local tissue necrosis.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN DING JING CAO MENSTRUAL HARMONY DECOCTION: 20 g dried herb boiled with Yi Mu Cao (10 g) and Xiang Fu in 600 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily before menses. Snakebite poultice: 50 g fresh herb pounded with salt applied over bite.
