    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Distinguish genuine Boerhavia diffusa from Trianthema portulacastrum. Exceptional nephrological, hepatic, and clinical safety profile. Safe and highly indicated in chronic renal and hepatic failure.

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD Stages 2-4) and nephrotic syndrome (nephron regeneration, GFR elevation, and proteinuria reduction via Boeravinones), hepatic cirrhosis ascites, and urolithiasis.

    Quality Markers

    Punarnavine (黄细心碱) >= 0.50%, Boeravinones A-F (罗特诺酮) >= 0.80% & Potassium >= 2,500 mg/100g (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Boeravinones A-F and punarnavine inhibit renal TGF-beta1 and fibronectin, arresting glomerulosclerosis. 2. High potassium surges osmotic diuresis to drain edema without potassium depletion.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN PUNARNAVA CKD NEPHRON RESTORATION DECOCTION (Punarnavashtak Kwath): 15 to 30 g dried roots boiled with Gokshura (Tribulus, 15 g) in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily (surges GFR and reduces proteinuria). Ascites flush: 30 g root decocted with ginger.
