    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Potent blood-activating and uterine-contracting properties; STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED DURING ACTIVE PREGNANCY. Safe and highly indicated during postpartum confinement and lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Postpartum lochial retention and uterine subinvolution (stimulating rhythmic myometrial contractions via Kockianins), rheumatoid arthralgia and knee swelling, and closed traumatic bruises.

    Quality Markers

    Cyanidin-3-rutinoside >= 1.80% in flowers, Resveratrol-3-O-glucoside >= 0.50% & Total Polyphenols >= 3.0% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Kockianins and anthocyanins stimulate myometrial alpha1-adrenergic receptors, promoting clean physiological lochial evacuation. 2. Resveratrol glucosides inhibit synovial NF-kB and COX-2 for joint pain.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN POSTPARTUM UTERINE INVOLUTION DECOCTION: 15 to 25 g dried sliced vine discs boiled with Halia Bara (10 g) and Kacip Fatimah in 600 mL water for 30 min; taken warm daily during confinement. Rheumatic wine: 50 g vine in 500 mL rice wine (take 15 mL).
