    White Dwarf Orchid Tree (Bunga Tapak Kuda Putih / Bai Hua Yang Ti Jia). Snow-white 5-petaled flowers with bilobed horse-hoof leaves. Sovereign for Dry Pulmonary Coughs & Thyroid Nodules: brewing white flowers into tea moistens parched lungs, stops bloody cough, softens goiters, unblocks urination.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Distinguish from Bauhinia variegata var. candida (acuminata has 10 fertile stamens and shrubby habit). Exceptional clinical and pulmonary safety profile. Safe in pregnancy, lactation, and childhood.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute and chronic dry bronchitis and hemoptysis (alveolar hydration and capillary stabilization via Kaempferol-3-galactoside >= 0.80%), thyroid nodular hyperplasia and scrofula, and urinary dysuria.

    Quality Markers

    Kaempferol-3-O-galactoside >= 0.80%, Acuminatin >= 0.40% & Total Flavonoids >= 2.20% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Kaempferol-3-galactoside stimulates respiratory ciliary transport and bronchial serous fluid secretion to ease dry coughs. 2. Bauhinoxepins downregulate thyroid follicular hyperproliferation.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN TAPAK KUDA PUTIH LUNG-MOISTENING TISANE: 15 to 20 g fresh white flowers (or 10 g dried) steeped in 400 mL boiling water with 1 tbsp raw honey for 10 min; taken warm twice daily for dry cough and hoarseness. Thyroid nodule decoction: 15 to 25 g dried bark chips boiled in 600 mL water.
