    Traditional Edict

    Clears heat and cools blood (清热凉血), resolves toxins and dispels swelling (解毒消肿), lubricates intestines to regenerate tissue (滑肠生肌). Nanyang folk remedy for diabetic foot ulcers (Luka Kencing Manis), necrotic bedsores, burns, and hemorrhoids.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Never apply unpreserved raw crushed leaves onto deep infected diabetic wounds due to rapid bacterial/mold growth; always use Zero-Water Balm or Ethanolic Spray. Contraindicated internally in severe Spleen deficiency diarrhea.

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic non-healing diabetic foot ulcerations (Wagner 1-2), decubitus ulcers, second-degree burns, purulent skin abscesses, radiation dermatitis, eczema, and aphthous stomatitis.

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Arabinogalactan mucilage polysaccharides create a sterile, non-adherent bio-occlusive hydrogel matrix that preserves physiological moisture, promotes VEGF secretion, and stimulates granulation. 2. Betacyanins (gomphrenin I, II, III) scavenge free radicals and inhibit Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas biofilms. 3. Basellasaponins soothe inflamed hemorrhoidal tissues.

    Preparation & Dosage

    100-Day Topical Ethanolic Spray (Semburan Tanpa Sentuh) filtered to 5 microns for touchless wound disinfection. Zero-Water Anhydrous Balm (sesame/coconut oil with 15% beeswax). Apply 3-5 times daily. Internal decoction: 30-60 g.
