    Cautions & Contraindications

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic periodontitis, bleeding gums, and mobile teeth (MMP-8/9 inhibition and alveolar bone protection via Prionisides and Verbascoside), spastic whooping cough and bronchial asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis.

    Quality Markers

    Prionisides A-C >= 0.80%, Shanzhiside Methyl Ester >= 1.20% & Verbascoside >= 0.50% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Prionisides and verbascoside inhibit human matrix metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8) and MMP-9 (IC50=6.2 uM), preventing periodontal collagen breakdown. 2. Verbascoside relaxes tracheal smooth muscle.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN VAJRADANTI PERIODONTAL TOOTH PASTE: 10 g fresh leaves crushed with a pinch of sea salt into a paste; massaged gently along gums twice daily (halts bleeding and firms loose teeth). Spastic cough tea: 10 to 15 g dried roots/leaves boiled in 500 mL water with honey.
