Master of Postpartum Confinement Baths (Mandian Herba Bersalin): steaming diaphoretic bath expels deep postpartum cold (Buang Angin Meroyan), relieves joint aches, clears eczema.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Pure essential oil must not be ingested undiluted. CONTRAINDICATED in active pregnancy for high-dose internal ingestion (blood-activating dynamics). Completely safe and highly indicated in postpartum baths.

    Clinical Applications

    • Postpartum maternal confinement diaphoresis and fatigue recovery (transdermal microvascular vasodilation via 1,8-Cineole and Baeckeol), rheumatoid joint arthralgia, and cutaneous fungal eczema.

    Quality Markers

    1,8-Cineole (桉油精) >= 45.0%-65.0% in essential oil, Baeckeol >= 0.50% & Essential Oil >= 1.50% (GC-MS/HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. 1,8-Cineole and baeckeol suppress NF-kB and downregulate TNF-a and iNOS, relieving musculoskeletal pain. 2. Volatile terpenes disrupt fungal cell wall ergosterol (MIC=0.5 uL/mL). 3. Diaphoresis.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE ROYAL CUCUR ATAP CONFINEMENT HERBAL BATH: 50 to 100 g dried leafy twigs boiled with Serai Wangi (20 g) and Halia Bara in 5 liters water for 20 min; bathe or sponge body warm daily during confinement. Anti-itch wash: 30 to 50 g boiled. Pure oil: 1%-3% diluted in carrier oil.

    Appended Prescriptions

    • 1. The Sovereign Confinement Warming Diaphoretic Bath with Cymbopogon nardus and Halia Bara. 2. Rheumatic Arthralgia Warming Liniment with Melaleuca cajuputi (Kayu Putih) and Plai oil.
