    Traditional Edict

    Weeping needle-leaved coastal shrub (Cucur Atap). Transforms turbid dampness, clears jaundice, dispels wind-cold, kills fungal ringworm (Kurap), and serves as supreme royal confinement bath herb (Mandi Herba).

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Shade-dry to preserve volatile tasmanone. Contraindicated in severe Yin deficiency with dry throat. Caution during first trimester of pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Cutaneous dermatophytosis (Trichophyton rubrum/mentagrophytes), MRSA skin infections, acute infectious hepatitis jaundice, functional dyspeptic nausea, and postpartum pelvic recovery.

    Quality Markers

    Tasmanone (Phloroglucinol) >= 1.00%, BF-1/BF-2 Flavanones & 1,8-Cineole >= 25.00% (HPLC/GC-MS MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Tasmanone and alkylated phloroglucinols lyse cell membranes of Gram-positive pathogens (S. aureus, MRSA) and dermatophytes (MIC 1.5-3.1 ug/mL). 2. C-methylated flavanones inhibit 5-LOX and downregulate LTB4/PGE2. 3. Choleretic bile acid export.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN MATERNAL POSTPARTUM BATH (Mandi Herba Cucur Atap): 100-150 g dried leafy branchlets boiled in 10 L water for 20 min. Topical wash for weeping eczema/tinea: 30-50 g boiled in 1 L water. Dried tea: 5-10 g.

    • 1. Royal Postnatal Wind-Expelling Confinement Soak with Blumea balsamifera (Da Feng Ai) and Cymbopogon flexuosus. 2. Nanyang Anti-Tinea Herbal Wash with Senna alata (Gelenggang).
