    Cautions & Contraindications

    • CRITICAL CARAMBOXIN NEUROTOXICITY IN RENAL FAILURE: Starfruit contains Caramboxin; IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE (CKD 4-5 OR DIALYSIS), it causes violent hiccups, seizures, and death. STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED IN RENAL FAILURE; SAFE IN HEALTHY KIDNEYS.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute pharyngotonsillitis and hoarseness (mucosal cooling and anti-inflammatory hydration via Rutin and Vitamin C), summer heatstroke thirst, burning urinary strangury, and alcohol intoxication.

    Rutin >= 0.50%, Apigenin-6-C-glucoside, Vitamin C >= 35 mg/100g & Caramboxin (monitored neurotoxic marker in renal failure)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry
