    Wild Tampang / Dadah Tree (Tampang / Da Da Shu / Dadah). Rainforest tree with velvety subglobose orange-pink fruits. Sovereign Intestinal Vermifuge & Astringent: chewing fresh bark or drinking decoction paralyzes and expels roundworms/tapeworms, halts bloody dysentery, heals mouth ulcers.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Astringent tannins may cause constipation if taken excessively (>30 g/day for >7 days). CONTRAINDICATED in spastic constipation and active pregnancy for high anthelmintic doses.

    Clinical Applications

    • Intestinal helminthiasis (Ascaris lumbricoides and cestode expulsion via Oxyresveratrol and Dadahol), acute bacillary dysentery and ulcerative colitis (mucosal tannin barrier), and bleeding periodontitis.

    Quality Markers

    Oxyresveratrol (白藜芦醇氧醚) >= 2.50%, Dadahol A & B >= 0.80% & Condensed Tannins >= 10.0% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Oxyresveratrol and Dadahols disrupt parasitic cuticular membranes, inducing neuromuscular spastic paralysis in worms. 2. Condensed tannins cross-link enterocyte glycoproteins to halt diarrhea.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN TAMPANG ANTHELMINTIC DRAUGHT: 10 to 15 g dried bark chips boiled in 500 mL water for 25 min; taken on an empty stomach at dawn (expels roundworms and pinworms within 24h). Dysentery tea: 10-15 g. Mouthwash for bleeding gums: 10 g boiled with salt.
