    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Flash-cook fresh greens (3-5 min) to preserve delightful fragrance and heat-labile flavonoids. Exceptional culinary, maternal, pediatric, and postpartum safety profile. Highly recommended during lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Postpartum uterine recovery and lochial stasis (stimulating myometrial involution via Apigenin-7-glucoside and Chlorogenic acid), secondary dysmenorrhea, liver-heat detoxification, and traumatic contusions.

    Quality Markers

    Apigenin-7-O-glucoside >= 0.80%, Rutin >= 1.50%, Chlorogenic Acid >= 1.20% & Essential Oil >= 0.80% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Apigenin and flavonoids stimulate uterine myometrial rhythmic contractions to flush stagnant lochia while downregulating COX-2 to ease afterpains. 2. Chlorogenic acid shields hepatocytes.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN ZHEN ZHU CAI CONFINEMENT SOUP (Sup Daun Manis Putih Bersalin / 珍珠菜猪血猪俐汤): 100 to 150 g fresh tender leaves simmered in pork/chicken broth with ginger and sesame oil for 5 min; consumed warm with meals during postpartum confinement. Dried herb decoction: 15-30 g.
