    Indian Birthwort / Tagala Dutchman's Pipe (Akar Petola Hutan / Luan Ye Ma Dou Ling). Heart-leaved climbing vine with pipe-shaped flowers and parachute pods. Undisputed Rainforest Antivenom: fresh root paste neutralizes cobra/viper bites, contracts uterus to expel lochia. NEPHROTOXIC INTERNALLY.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • ARISTOLOCHIC ACID NEPHROPATHY (AAN) & UROTHELIAL CARCINOMA WARNING: Chronic ingestion causes irreversible renal interstitial fibrosis. ABSOLUTELY CONTRAINDICATED IN PREGNANCY, LACTATION, AND CKD.

    Clinical Applications

    • Emergency venomous snakebite neutralization (PLA2 enzyme inhibition), refractory rheumatoid joint stiffness, and postpartum uterine subinvolution. INTERNAL USE STRICTLY RESTRICTED TO SHORT-TERM EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS.

    Aristolactam I >= 0.15%, Aristolactam A-II, Aristolic Acid & Total Aristolactam Alkaloids (HPLC/LC-MS standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Aristolactams and aristolic acid competitively inhibit snake venom Phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and hyaluronidase. 2. CRITICAL TOXICOLOGY: Aristolochic acids form DNA adducts causing Aristolochic Acid Nephropathy (AAN).

    Preparation & Dosage

    CRITICAL TOXICOLOGY MANDATE: STRICTLY EXTERNAL OR EMERGENCY MICRO-DOSING (MAX 3-5 DAYS). SNAKEBITE EMERGENCY POULTICE: 30 g fresh roots pounded with coconut oil applied around bite. Decoction: 1.5 to 3.0 g dried root (NEVER EXCEED 3 g; NEVER USE CONTINUOUSLY).
