    • Refractory bronchial asthma and COPD (potent Gq/G11 protein inhibition and airway bronchodilation via FR900359), acute suppurative tonsillitis, aphthous stomatitis, and sports ligament trauma.

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. FR900359 selectively blocks Gq/11 protein GTPase signaling, halting bronchoconstrictor IP3/Ca2+ surges to dilate spastic airways. 2. Bergenin acts as central antitussive. 3. Saponins inhibit Streptococcus.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN ZHU SHA GEN TONSILLITIS & ASTHMA DECOCTION: 10 to 15 g dried root chips boiled in 500 mL water for 20 min; gargled and swallowed warm twice daily. Traumatic contusion liniment: 30 g roots macerated in 200 mL rice wine for 7 days. Fresh root chewing: 3 g for toothache.
