    Java Anaxagorea / Beko (Bunga Beko / Bebeka / Zhua Wa An Na Shu). Fragrant yellow flowers and club-shaped dehiscent follicles. Sovereign for Postpartum Confinement (Jamu Bersalin): warms the cold womb, relieves postpartum lower back lumbago, dissolves traumatic contusions, unblocks channels.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Distinguish from other Annonaceae species. High musculoskeletal, maternal, and postpartum safety profile. Safe in lactation. CONTRAINDICATED in active pregnancy (uterine-moving dynamics).

    Clinical Applications

    • Postpartum uterine coldness and lower back fatigue (myometrial circulation enhancement via Asimilobine), closed traumatic ligament sprains and sports contusions, and chronic knee osteoarthritis.

    Quality Markers

    Asimilobine (Aporphine alkaloid) >= 0.50%, Anonaine, Liriodenine & Spathulenol (HPLC/GC-MS standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Asimilobine and aporphine alkaloids modulate dopaminergic and vascular adrenergic receptors, surging pelvic perfusion and relieving muscular spasms. 2. Sesquiterpenes inhibit COX-2 for joint pain.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN BUNGA BEKO CONFINEMENT DECOCTION: 15 to 25 g dried roots or bark chips boiled with Temulawak (15 g) and Halia Bara (10 g) in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily during 44-day confinement. Traumatic sprain wrap: 30 g pounded bark with warm rice wine.
