    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Large medicinal doses are intensely warming. CONTRAINDICATED in severe gastric heat with bleeding ulcers and thirst for cold drinks. Safe and highly recommended in culinary amounts during pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Helicobacter pylori gastritis and peptic ulcer disease (bactericidal eradication via ACA), cutaneous fungal ringworm and tinea versicolor (Panau), seafood food poisoning, and cold-damp arthritis.

    1'-Acetoxychavicol Acetate (ACA) >= 2.50%-5.00%, 1,8-Cineole >= 25.0%, Eugenol & Galangin (HPLC/GC-MS MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. 1'-Acetoxychavicol acetate (ACA) selectively inhibits H. pylori vacA and cagA cytotoxins and disrupts bacterial cell walls. 2. ACA induces mitochondrial apoptosis in gastric cancer cells (MGC-803).

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN LENGKUAS H. PYLORI & GASTRIC HEALING DECOCTION: 15 to 25 g fresh sliced Lengkuas rhizome boiled with fresh turmeric (10 g) and licorice in 500 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily before meals. Culinary: essential foundation in Rendang, Tom Yum, and Laksa.
