    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Fiery topical pungency causes transient skin warmth (normal therapeutic effect). CONTRAINDICATED in active pregnancy for high-dose internal decoctions. Safe during lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Tinea versicolor (pityriasis versicolor / Panau) and fungal dermatomycoses (membrane lysis via ACA), functional flatulent gastralgia and cold dyspepsia, and postpartum womb-wind expulsion.

    1'-Acetoxychavicol Acetate (ACA) >= 1.80%-3.50%, 1,8-Cineole >= 30.0% & Eugenol (HPLC/GC-MS standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. 1'-Acetoxychavicol acetate (ACA) disrupts fungal cell membrane ergosterol and inhibits Malassezia furfur and Trichophyton (MIC=12.5 ug/mL). 2. Cineole and eugenol relax gastrointestinal spasms.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN LENGKUAS RANTING PANAU PROTOCOL (Ubat Panau No. 1): Crush 30 g fresh rhizome, mix with 1 tbsp lime juice and a pinch of sulfur/salt (or steep in 50 mL rubbing alcohol for 3 days); rub vigorously over sweat spots twice daily (cures in 3 days). Tea: 6-10 g.
