    Traditional Edict

    Golden Trumpet / Yellow Allamanda (Bunga Akar Kuning / Ruan Zhi Huang Chan). Glowing yellow trumpet flowers and prickly capsule burrs. High-Potency Purgative & Antifungal Sovereign: purges refractory hepatic ascites (Gu Zhang), destroys stubborn ringworm (Kurap), and induces emesis in poisons. TOXIC RAW.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • HIGH IRIDOID LACTONE TOXICITY: Ingestion of leaves/sap causes violent vomiting, explosive diarrhea, and dehydration. Sap causes severe eye burning. ABSOLUTELY CONTRAINDICATED IN PREGNANCY (ABORTIFACIENT) and lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Cutaneous tinea corporis/pedis and fungal eczema (broad-spectrum fungal membrane lysis via Plumericin), experimental oncology (selective DNA cleavage via Allamandin), and acute poison emesis. Internal crude plant forbidden.

    Quality Markers

    Allamandin (黄蝉素 / Iridoid lactone) >= 0.50%, Plumericin, Isoplumericin & Plumieride (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Allamandin and plumericin alkylate DNA polymerase and topoisomerase II, triggering G2/M arrest in cancer cells. 2. Plumericin disrupts fungal ergosterol. 3. Purgative iridoid lactones induce violent diarrhea.

    Preparation & Dosage

    CRITICAL MANDATE: STRICTLY EXTERNAL USE. THE SOVEREIGN RINGWORM TINCTURE: 50 g fresh leaves macerated in 200 mL 70% alcohol for 7 days; dabbed directly onto ringworm (Kurap) twice daily. Fresh latex: 1 drop on warts. INTERNAL INGESTION PROHIBITED.
