    Sage-Leaved Alangium / Bone-Fixer (Mentulang / Shu Ci Mu / Ankolam). Thorny tree with fragrant white flowers and purple drupes. Supreme Sovereign for Rabies & Snakebite Envenomations (Ankolam): destroys neurotoxins, unblocks severe rheumatoid paralysis, lowers blood pressure. STRICT MICRO-DOSING.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • CRITICAL EMETIC & NEURO-TOXICOLOGY: Ingestion of >5 g causes violent projectile vomiting, tremors, and hypotension. STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED IN PREGNANCY (potent abortifacient) and in young children.

    Clinical Applications

    • Adjuvant snakebite and rabies envenomation (neutralizing venom enzymes and viral replication via Alangine and Ankorine), severe rheumatoid arthritis, Stage 1-2 hypertension, and closed bone fractures.

    Quality Markers

    Ankorine >= 0.40%, Alangine, Tubulosine, Cephaeline & Alangicine (HPLC Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Tubulosine and alangine inhibit venom PLA2 and hyaluronidases, while deoxytubulosine inhibits viral protein synthesis. 2. Isoquinoline alkaloids block Nav1.7 sodium channels to halt severe pain.

    Preparation & Dosage

    CRITICAL PAOZHI MANDATE: AYURVEDIC MILK DECOCTION (Ankolam Ksheerapaka): 2.0 to 3.0 g dried root bark chips boiled in 100 mL milk and 400 mL water until water evaporates (milk lipids buffer emetic toxicity). NEVER EXCEED 4.5 g DAILY. Topical snake poultice: 20 g fresh bark around bite.
