    Traditional Edict

    Indian Jointvetch (Rumput Ketam / He Meng / Tian Zao Jiao). Sensitive touch-folding even-pinnate leaves and jointed loment pods. Sovereign for clearing blazing summer-heat fevers, draining burning damp-heat strangury (Re Lin), and resolving acute viral hepatitis jaundice.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Pinnate leaves fold closed when touched (nyctinasty). High clinical and urological safety profile. Safe in lactation; moderate internal doses during pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Summer heatstroke and febrile pyrexia, acute urinary tract infections with burning dysuria, icteric viral hepatitis, and acute mastitis.

    Quality Markers

    Aeschynomene Saponins A & B, Quercetin-3-O-galactoside, Luteolin & Mucilage Polysaccharides >= 3.0% (HPLC)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Saponins and flavonoids downregulate pyrogenic cytokines and promote renal osmotic diuresis, flushing urinary bacteria. 2. Upregulates bile secretion to clear jaundice.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN TIAN ZAO JIAO DYSURIA & FEBRIFUGE DECOCTION: 15 to 30 g dried whole herb or jointed pods boiled with Che Qian Cao (15 g) and Corn Silk (20 g) in 600 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily. Hepatitis tea: 20 g with Dukung Anak.
