    Golden Mangrove Fern / Leather Fern (Piai Raya / Lu Jue). Colossal mangrove fern with velvety golden-yellow fertile fronds. Supreme Mangrove Styptic: immediately pounded to seal bleeding machete wounds, stanch heavy capillary hemorrhage, and halt chronic dysentery.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Wash wild mangrove ferns thoroughly in clean fresh water to remove salt and silt. CONTRAINDICATED internally in spastic bowel obstruction. Safe in lactation; safe topically during pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Traumatic external hemorrhage and lacerations (accelerating platelet aggregation and fibrin clot formation via Condensed Tannins), chronic bacillary dysentery and ulcerative colitis, and weeping eczema.

    Quality Markers

    Condensed Tannins / Proanthocyanidins >= 10.0%-16.0% & Quercetin-3-O-glucoside (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Condensed tannins (>=12%) precipitate surface plasma proteins into a protective eschar, terminating capillary bleeding within 2-3 min. 2. Tightens enterocyte junctions to halt secretory diarrhea.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN PIAI RAYA TRAUMATIC STYPTIC PASTE: 50 g fresh fronds and fertile pinnae pounded into a moist paste with 1 tsp virgin coconut oil; applied directly over bleeding wounds and bound with gauze. Dysentery decoction: 20 to 30 g dried rhizome chips in 600 mL water.
